Why you ask.
Well I don't want to rely on any other forum for backups or control.
It is easier for me to release the updates on my own forums.
Finally, I can control and see who is downloading when I use my own forums.(if I so choose to limit access)

I hate to chime in on the other side, but the forum is outdated, and has been subject to hacks and wipes in the recent past...so I couldn't really agree with him more. At least if he gets hacked, he's got some control (hopefully backups) of all the discussions that were made previously -- though it is a PITA to have to register on a different forum...and keep track of everything.
Limiting access would be pretty lame, if you're going to share it, let everyone use it.
I released TinkerBot with the help of many as a reaction to game demand, and the fact that people were charging a ridiculous amount of money (Singularity Key was worth a lot at the time) for a good tinker. I know some people complain about bots being around, but I'm guessing they didn't have to deal with being the guild tinkerer. It wasn't fun to try to play and have people asking you to tinker for them all the time. *shrug* It's not that I really hated helping, it's that it cut out of my game time a LOT, plus a bot that is around when I'm not offering it's services for free I think is invaluable to guilds/public areas.
