"Cannot determine scripting language for SkapiDefs.js"

GKusnick,

In a previous post from back in 2004, you said to reinstall the "Microsoft scripting engine" from Skunkworks Link Page.

This link has since been changed with Microsoft dry.gif , producing a "Location Cannot Be Found" error. huh.gif

Which scripting engine am I looking for now to satisfy the error above?

Thanks,
Roogon

Sorry .. blink.gif

I since found the answer to my question ..

"Microsoft Windows Script version 5.6 or better" .. rolleyes.gif

Additional note .. looks like this does not work well with Windows Server 2003 .. mad.gif

Not a big thing, just happen to be where I was testing. dry.gif

What exactly do you mean by "does not work well"? Is there some specific issue you're seeing?

The following error message occurs when I install the Windows Script v5.6 onto Windows Server 2003 ..

"The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with this version of Windows.

This software will not be installed. Contact your system administrator."

Clicking 'OK' stop brings up one more message ..

"INF Install failure. Reason: Could not retrieve the system message. You may run out of the system resource."

Script 5.6 should come with '2003' but seems ~not~ to.

The windows knowledgebase says the install only for W2k and XP .. but I tried anyways for grins.

Just to end this on a good note ..

.. I installed this all of this again on my laptop .. running Windows XP .. and everything ran find. biggrin.gif

Scripting 5.6 seems to be functional on my 2003 Server. My recollection is that it came standard, but it's been a while.

Have you perhaps run some security lockdown tool on your server that may have disabled scripting?
