What can I do so that I can detect keyboard events in macros?

I am trying to make a macro that wil convert your Z Keystroke into many Z Keystrokes if you hold the Z key down.

Seems to be an Odd request, If I open Notepad and hold down the Z key, it Auto Repeats the Z key until I release the Z key.

Now if you wanted it to Spam the Z key when you've pressed say: Ctrl-Z to start the Spamming and again to stop the Spamming, I could see the use of a Macro.
