Full Version: SkunkWorks, Decal, and the October patch

As you probably know by now, the October patch requires that you upgrade to Decal 2.6.0.1 in order to use this month's encrypted Memlocs.xml. Unfortunately this version of Decal breaks SkunkWorks, because SkunkWorks is no longer able to directly read Memlocs.xml as downloaded by Decal. As a temporary workaround, I am providing an unencrypted version of Memlocs.xml (attached below). Unzip this file into your Decal installation folder, overwriting the existing Memlocs.xml, and that should get SkunkWorks up and running again. Note that doing this may interfere with some newer plugins that depend on the new Memlocs format, so do this at your own risk.

The next release of SkunkWorks will include a more permanent and more compatible fix.

Those of you who downloaded the unencrypted Memlocs.xml on Wednesday (patch day) will want to do it again since that first version did not include the Ust memlocs. This version does.

Getting those other plugins to work is easy. Decal didn't encrypt until 2.6.0.1, and they made a release at 2.6.0.0. Contains all the same functionality without the encrypted memlocs. You can download it from Decal with this direct link.

Directions:
- Download/Install 2.6.0.0.
- Launch Decal
- Open up DenAgent (double click the icon in you Taskbar), and hit update.
- After updating with those xmls, replace Memlocs.xml with the one in Greg's zip file above.
- Restart Skunk and AC and all should be fine.

Does this work for 2.6.0.1 or only older version of decal?

It works for versions 2.6.0.0 and earlier.

it works for 2.6.0.1 too. you do not need to downgrade Decal.

both 2.6.0.0 and 2.6.0.1 are the same in this respect: they will both decrypt an encrypted xml if you have one, but if it's not encrypted that will work too. that's why 2.6.0.1 worked fine before the patch, for example. last months memlocs weren't encrypted, but they worked fine.

Use the Update command in Decal to get current memlocs.
