New Version 2.1.0.0
See next post down for InformationNew in Version 2.0- No longer uses U.S.T to salvage. Salvage Macro Aid now salvages and combines all salvage (reguardless of work)
- Overall speed of Salvage Macro Aid has been improved.
- Latest testing showed salvaging 24-30 items and combing the bags in just 4 seconds!
- New materials.cds file which is used with salvaging. Salvage Macro Aid 2.0 comes with a macro that can help you set this up
How to setup Settings.cds- Open settings.cds by using cdsedit.exe, which is found in the ACTool directory
- PACK - This is what pack Salvage Macro Aid will store full bags. When it is full it will goto the next pack down. (Mainpack=1, Second Pack=2...etc)
- LOOTMOTES - Weather or not you are looting motes, having this set to 1 will mean the macro will combine the motes right up to the Pyreal Bar stage.
- LOOTSIKS - If this is set to 1 Salvage Macro Aid will attempt to combine any Sturdy Iron Keys to a keyring.
- NEAR - Salvage Macro Aid will not salvage till the monsters around you are below this amount (Salvage Macro Aid will pick up monsters that arent visible on the radar. You can change this option ingame when macroing if it is set wrong.
- MINSLOTS - Number of slots to have in the main pack before starting to salvage
- IRCS - The command used to chat in an IRC Channel (will output total time running and bags/hour using this command)
How to setup Materials.cds- Open the Included file, MaterialsCDSHelper.mac
- This macro will add any new materials to materials.cds by scanning your inventory for any salvage bags. It will then add that material to the materials.cds file
- Go ingame and start the macro by pressing F2 and wait till it finishes.
- If you dont have materials.cds it will create one for you.
- You can also add materials manually to the file using cdsedit.exe
RequirementsUsing the Macro- Before you start Salvage Macro Aid make sure you are in combat mode. Salvage Macro Aid determines weather you are mage/melee/missile by what mode you are in when you start the macro.
- Salvage Macro Aid no longer checks you health when salvaging. Make sure you have NEAR set to a safe amount.
- To be safe. Retain all items you consider valuable. Salvage Macro Aid has no safety feature to check items it is salvaging and will salvage everything in the mainpack if it is in the material list.
Commands Available- /actcmd help - Shows this text.
- /actcmd force - Force Salvaging.
- /actcmd near <#> - Will set the amount of monsters that it is safe to salvage to <#>.
- /actcmd near - with no number will set to how many monsters are currently around you.
- /actcmd slots <#> - will set minimum slots to start salvaging to <#>.
- /actcmd motes - Turns mote combining On and Off.
- /actcmd siks - Turns sik keyring adding On and Off.
- /actcmd status - Display Macro Status
- /actcmd ircs - Will send Bags/Hour to IRC Channel.
- /actcmd display - Will display Current Settings for changable settings.
- /actcmd load <filename> - Will load Settings from file <filename>
- /actcmd save <filename> - Will save Settings to file <filename>
- /actcmd view <filename> - Will display Settings stored in file <filename>
- /actcmd matadd - Add a new material to materials.cds
- /actcmd matview - View Materials.cds
- /actcmd matdel - Delete a material from Materials.cds (at this stage requires you to restart Salvage Macro Aid)
Problems?Salvage Macro Aid 1.6.0.0 will still be supported in its own thread. No new features will be added to it however, only bug fixes will be released.
The settings.cds file used in 1.6.0.0 will
not work for 2.0.0.0. as with the 2.0.0.0 settings.cds file not working for 1.6.0.0.

New Version 2.1.0.0
Salvaging has been tweaked even more! I think this is going to be as fast as the game can allow at this stage.
Salvage Macro Aid will now combine all the salvage along with the partial bags at the same time.
In version 2.0.0.0 it was taking me 19 seconds to salvage. In version 2.1.0.0 its taking me 7 seconds!!
Attached is the Main File only
If you have not used 2.0.0.0 before please download the ZIP file in the above post that contains all the other files aswell.

Hold on, no, closed again.
No, sorry, this time we really mean it, closed. Give us yer money.
Wait a sec .. open again. Haha.
What a freakin soap opera ElTank has become.
But I digress. Nice use of the beta 3 features, Vitmyr.

yeah this is good though.
because i was in the middle onf "long-term" testing this version. seeing how long it would go when this whole fiasco started happening.
Thanks for the good words about using beta 3. Just those few commands have made a big difference on what you can do in ACTool, and i cant wait for more. if there is going to be more
Edit Just found a small bug in MaterialsCDSHelper.mac (The macro that generates a Materials list based on what salvage bags you have on you)
The bug would cause the material to be saved in the CDS file with spaces on either side which then caused Salvage Macro Aid to not read the file right.

well it worked successfully for me.
Salvaged everything in about 19 seconds. when 1.6.0.0 would take about 2 minutes to do the same thing.
how is it going for everyone else?

will this version work in Window'd mode the way that 1600 would?
haven't gotten a chance to use it yet but I thought i would ask
vitmyr
Nov 15 2003, 06:07 AM
yes it does work in windowed mode.
i have been using it in windowed m,ode for most of the time.
only mouse positioning used is for clicking the salvage button which the script obtains from IncUI.mac

hi im new at this can i have a quick set up review?
This is what i think i have to do run the material macro with the material.cds file on
then do i turn both off completly and just run the salvage macro with the settings.cds on?
and the materials.cds file didn't have any materials written inside either, then i ran the material mac program it said it scanned the materials and wrote them in the meterial.cds file but when i opend it there was still nothing inside....
O and do i save the files to the macros file in ac tool or does it matter?

Nov 20 2003, 03:56 AM
ignore my last post......by reading i have learned alot....hehe maybe i didnt learn everything but im still having some trouble with the new salvage aid.
The mistake I'm getting is that when I type in /actcmd force it starts to force salvage but only adds the first material and looks like it tries to add the other materials but does not get to cuz it looks like the first one did not get salvaged. Not sure what im doing wrong, going to see if i can change the min so it start salvaging and see if it works over the force salvage
vitmyr
Nov 21 2003, 04:13 AM
is the mouse moving to the salvage button at all? or is it jsut staying in the same place?
yes save the files to the /macros/ directory.
You might need IncUI.mac which controls mouse positioning.
check your /macros/ directory for it.

I've been using previous versions of Macro Aid, I decided to give this new one a try and it wont salvage for me.
When its time to salvage (have it set to 20 spots)
The salvage panel comes up, the mouse goes over the salvage button and then i get this:

Well I fond my main pack was filling up with peas and scarabs. Not leaving enough room for salvage materials. So I came up with this mod to the "Move" procedure. Added these 2 lines
MoveAllItem *Scarab, 4, 1, 1, 1
MoveAllItem *Pea, 4, 1, 1, 1
This will move all scarabs and peas that are collected to pack 4. Might want to add this to production code, with a settings for which pack people want Spell comps stacked in. So bags go in one pack, and spell comps go in a different one.
MoveAllItem *Scarab, $CompPack, 1, 1, 1
MoveAllItem *Pea, $CompPack, 1, 1, 1

wow - very nice

- haven't tried yet but I can't wait to

any chance you could add a feature to carve sing keys and add them to a ring?
also, is there a way to protect items via GUI # that you could put into place?
vitmyr
Dec 11 2003, 03:01 AM
This version isnt going to have any protection. it is made for its speed. Salvage Macro Aid 1.6.0.0 uses U.S.T which will protect stuff you dont want salvaged.
I can have a look at adding Sing ring carving and adding. I dont have access to my PC much, new job and stufffed up living prevents me from getting any time to do this stuff.

Hiya
This looks really cool … I am just having one problem wich I know its some thing Im doing I just hope someone can help me out. Every thing seems to be working fine it opens up the Ust stands there moves the mouse to the salvage button gives a report and then gose back to attack mode. Only thing is it never put anything in the Ust to salvage and yes I have set the salvage using the MaterialsCDSHelper . just in case you where thinking it was that. so what it ends up doing is just trying to salvage over and over again..
appreciate the help if anyone knows what to do. thx

ek nm it was something i was doing

i forgot to move the new MaterialsCDSHelper into my macros folder so i was useing the old one heheh

I have run it for a couple of days now its working great !!! the first day I ran it ran the whole day no prob but the second day I ran it I found a little problem wich was an easy fix.The problem was that when it got done salvaging it would go to go into attack mode and at the same time try to open up a corpse this made it so my char would just be standing there. after this happening to me 3 times i decided to look at the code. seeing there seemed to be no check to make sure your char got back into attack mode. I just add this..
While _CombatState <> $State
SetCombatState $State | 200
ProcessMessages
End
I’m not that great at code so there may be a better way. This seemed to work so far it has not got stuck out of attack mode. I am running a mage so I don’t know if this is a problem with melees or not…

Just got this program lst night... im kind of a newb at this stuff but i still think i set it up correctly..when i started the macro, it started just chugging stamina elixirs even tho i had full health... i know it had to be this program because tank never does that. also now im having trouble getting it started if i hit f2 ig it wont work . it says macro started but it just doesnt do anythng and i check out of game and tool says the macro istn started yet either.. when i clikc start macro on out of game tool it maximizes ac like its spose to do then Actool just closes.
please help me out a bit.. also none of the commands would work.

Kinda new here, so bear with me a bit. I downloaded all the files in the link. GOt everything setup. I looted a few monsters and then forced a salvage. worked perfectly. Only problem is my mage would not go back into war mode. Any advice on this? Thank you in advance.

Start the macro in magic mode.
When you start the macro it determines weather you are melee/mage/missle by what combat mode you are in when you start it. Stupid way to do it i know, but ill make a better way
nitsua185 I cant help you with problems with ACTool itself. Try posting in the ACTool Discussion Forum.

I suppose that since this version is meant for speed (no IDing) theres no way to make it seperate salvage into different qualities?
I haven't used the older version so I may give that a try since it uses UST.
Thanks for your hard work, I know how much of headache script writing can be.
vitmyr
Dec 22 2003, 02:36 PM
Yes this version has been written with speed in mind. It salvages everything of one material in one go.
Salvage Macro Aid 1.6.0.0 still works as far as i know..lol and is great for those that think safety is an issue when salvaging and also want sperate workmanship bags.

I noticed that if you try to have salvage stored in the main pack, it still adds your full bags to the ust, thus cancelling out any available usting it could do. For the next version, you may want to have it ignore full bags when usting things. Other than that, it works great.

Just a guess but line 831 is pointing to c:\nodir\nodir\
When it should be pointing to where you have the Dataset at
i.e. c:\program files\ac tool\macros\dsmaterial.cds
vitmyr

you need to make the materials dataset first if it isnt already there.
thats the error you get when the file doesnt exist.
use the materials dataset script included with the main script.

Hi,
MacroAid version 2.1
Decal 2.6.0.3 (updated)
AcTool 4.4.16 Beta 7
The problem I am having is that everything seems to work correctly, I have set my materials list and set up my settings.cds file, but when it comes time to salvage it opens up the Ust but wont put anything into it, I am probably just overlooking something, and am hoping someone can point me in the right direction to fix this.

Okay, Here goes. I have read ever past here 3-4 times. I am still having problems. I am Running the Latest Decal, and ACTool Beta 7. At first it would only add 1 item to the ust, then not salvage anything and end in 2 seconds. I cant seem to figure this thing out. I also tried to use the old version wich requires U.S.T... That wont run on my PC for some reason. The Dialog for it never shows up

Anyone have any idea's or help here?
