Full Version: Allegiance Mapper
AC Tools Everything Macro > AC Tool Macros > Asheron's Call Macros
Fzzt
I started rewriting ADE and this is what I ended up with for my own personal use.
I've tried to make it as easy to use as time allowed.

Here's header from macro:
// ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------//
// Allegiance Mapper V1.0 //
// By DanTanna of FF, member of Hell Inc, http://www.hh-inc.com //
// Based on Allegiance Database Exporter v.1.3.0 //
// By Aratak of Frostfell //
// Last Updated: 07/05/04 Contact Email: DanTanna1@msn.com Web Site: Coming //
// ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------//
//
// What it does:
// It creates a comma delimited file of your allegiance tree.
// You can start with the Monarch to capture the entire allegiance or a particular
// character to see who all is down a particular branch.
//
// The main purpose of this macro was to automate the capture of allegiance
// data for a 2000+ member allegiance. It took over 22 straight hours to successfully
// scan the allegiance. I was satisfied with the overall performace however there
// is still a quirk over deleted characters. I have the start of a solution but will
// not have time to fully develop it until near the end of the month.
//
// Until then this macro should still be useful to anyone needing a way to look at their
// allegiance tree.

For more detailed information please read the top of the macro.

I'll answer questions about it as best I can if anyone has any.
Now go google your tree!

DanTanna.

edit: probably be nice to know the macro is in the macro vault under: AllegMap.mac
Rascal
Could you please post the macro?

It's amazing what you can find out when you actually read the whole post...

..and, with a little more observation, there's this post that's pinned to the top of every forum: >> AC Tool Macro Vault, a convenient place to share macros

..a little bit of reading there finds a link to >> The Macro Vault.

Granted, at this point you do need a bit of intuition to pick >>Asheron's Call Macros from that list, but I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt on that one. Anyway, the second macro on the resultant list is "AllegMap.mac" --> Already posted.

I suppose I should have attached the file to the post but I was under the impression that the proper way to upload macro's was through the macro vault to help cut down forum bandwidth use?

I read the entire post and searched all over for more information before I posted.
It turns out there is some problem viewing the page in firefox .9

NO download button appears AT ALL. There is NOTHING to click on or see.

Thanks SO much for your sarcasm, it was very helpful

Why I don't use Netscrap / Mozero / Slopra or Fauxfox "browsers" -->

Hehe -- you say that like that's something new!

-->98% of browser market = IE 6, the remaining 2% = all the rest

So why's it always such a surprise when people find out the fringe crap doesn't always work as well as the mainstream stuff?

Understand, it doesn't matter WHAT the featureset is! Until 98%+ of webdevelopers are writing their sites with your browser in mind (as they ALL do with IE), there's always going to be sites where those browsers exhibit "some problem viewing the page".

PS: You're welcome for the sarcasm, I'm glad it was beneficial for you biggrin.gif

Thanks for putting this out Fzzt. You by any chance dont have the code to display the csv info using ASP from the original macro do you? I wanted to look at some examples before I started putting something together.

Thanks.

No I sure don't.
Btw - I'm uploading ver 1.01 to the macro vault.

I added a backup to the GoogleEm list so that if you crash in the middle it doesn't leave you with an empty file of the people you were about to google.
I just had this happen to me and there were approx. 240 names in that round -- made me realize something better needed to be done there!

So get AllegMap101.mac in the macro vault.

I just whipped this together real quick - not a ton of testing, but it does work on my .csv.

http://www.nwlink.com/~ghsmith/AllegToXML.exe

Let me know what you think. It loads the CSV, displays it in a TreeView and optionally saves to an XML file.
